A pop music radio show for people who already know plenty about pop music, hosted by Ron "Boogiemonster" Gerber. From January 1992 - May 1992, the show ran every Friday afternoon from 2-4 on 88.5 WRUR-FM, Rochester, New York. Most of these shows were preceded by a half-hour request-free show called "Songs I Listen To In My Car".

Subject: Show Numero Dos!

Michael's observations:

"Songs I Listen To In My Car" sounds like the genesis for what would be the KFAI version of Crap From The Past.

Ron liked the PSA music, but the WRUR News music was more kick ass! :D

Flyers beat the Bruins! Yeah! :)

"Emotional Rescue" hit #9 on the dance chart, not #2.

"Valley Girl" was way better sped up. :P

It's interesting that 23 year old Ron hated "White Horse", yet it's been a staple of CFTP for so many years.

Why was 1992 Ron hatin' on "More Than A Woman" by Tavares? It's a better version than the Bee Gees song.

At least the screams & record scratching for Shaun Cassidy's "Da Doo Ron Ron" was understandable. The songs Eric Carmen wrote for Shaun were way better.

Subject: GREAT SHOW---GOOVING!!!

EXCELLENT...FIRST OFF,THE QUALITY OF THE RECORDING IS EXCELLENT. CHOICE OF MUSIC IS GREAT TOO!!!! LOTS OF GREAT 80S HITS, AND GREAT SEQUENCE OF PLAYING THOSE SONGS. I LOVE THESE EARLY SHOWS. Now that I'm done shouting, I am a product of the 80s, and many of my favorites were played on this show. Big Country's Big Country is an awesome song. Love Gloria Gaynor's hit. Jermaine Stewarts songs area all so catchy, a shame we lost him so early. The Buggles song is another of my favorites. Overall, great work Ron. And congrats on 17 years of kickin' ass!

Subject: Wish the "Songs while driving" was labeled.

Between "Rapture" and "Boogie Wonderland" was "Words" by Missing Persons. Also, "More Than A Woman" by Demetrius (?) between "Big Country" & "... Clothes Off".

I wonder why Ron didn't play the screaming women during the "Frightened by this thing that I've become" line in "Africa".
